Unflavored Whey Protein Isolate

This is 90 % Whey Isolate Protein, to be used in baking, mixing with cooked foods, or used to make protein drinks. This commonly called food grade whey protein Isolate. It contains no fillers, flowing agents, flavoring agents, or coloring agents, it is only whey protein. It is not isolated chemically but is isolated using micro filtration, other parts of the whey are filtered out leaving the whey with a higher protein percentage. 3 Tablespoons offer 27 grams of protein supplementation, in the most absorbable for for post bariatric patients--whey isolate protein. Although Whey Protein Isolate is the optimum form of protein for supplements for bariatric patients, this one is NOT FORTIFIED with other vitamins, minerals, or amino acids, as many of the more expensive brands. The supplement label lists no vitamins in the contents, as noted near the bottom of this page. So make sure to take your other supplements daily, as recommended by your surgeon.
This Whey Protein Isolate has a mild flavor similar to evaporated milk and is sold as "unflavored". Whey Protein is referred to as Whey Protein Isolate as the protein has been isolated (separated) from the other whey components. Whey Protein Isolate has a better amino acid profile, a lower fat level and higher immune boosting properties than whey protein concentrate.
This is an affordable solution to protein
supplementation for the bariatric patient or anyone who may have special dietary
needs. I sell it in one pound bags, at a price of $23. Unjury and other
brands of unflavored whey protein isolates sell for around $1 per serving.
The one pound bag has enough for 58 of the 18gr protein servings, or 35 of the 27 gr
protein
servings, making the final cost of each 27 gr serving at $.61 per serving. Mix in with cooked foods, cereals, salad dressings,
sauces, etc. Can be mixed with water and sugar free flavorings to make high
protein, low fat protein drinks. I personally have mixed this whey protein
isolate with sugar free puddings and made protein drinks with sugar free
flavors. It does mix well, without lumps. It it blended very fine, and has
no "gritty" texture--a common complaint with Isopure powdered whey protein
powder.
In a recent demo at a support meeting, I did the following: I added 3T of the protein powder to some water that was in a clear glass. The glass was set on a table for this demo. Within 10 seconds, the protein powder had dissolved into the water WITHOUT mixing with a spoon. The glass was left there for another 6 -7 minutes, while I spoke with another woman. I then looked at the glass, and the water had a translucent appearance. The protein powder had dispersed completely throughout the water in the glass. I picked up the glass and looked at the bottom of it. There was NO evidence of any protein powder settling out at all. This is the easiest mixing protein I've ever seen. One woman then took a drink of the water from this demo, and her comment was "it just tastes like water, no other taste".
I also use the protein powder in SF pudding. This is my treat at almost 5 years post op. BUT, this is also a viable way to get protein when post ops are on soft foods and have poor appetite. I measure 2 cups of fat free milk into a plastic container. I add 3 sets of 27g protein to the milk. Lightly whisk, due to the larger volume of powder. Add one small box of Jello SF pudding mix, and whisk for about 20 seconds. Then cap container and shake for about 3 minutes. Set in fridge. In about 1-2 hours you'll have a chilled protein treat. FF milk has 18g protein per 2 cups, and with the 81g protein powder (3 x 27g), and this makes an 8 oz treat that has 99g protein. And this tastes like pudding. The protein powder makes the protein have a creamier consistency than with just fat free milk also. If you have 2 oz servings, that almost 25g or protein per serving.

Photos above are the one pound that is sold at $23, and supplemental fact sheet. Recent cost increase of 14% has increased the selling price to $23 per bag, so the price on the label above is incorrect. Serving size on supplemental fact sheet refers to 2 Tbsp making 18 grams of protein, and a 3 Tsp serving equates to the common 27 gram servings seen on other protein supplements.
